To be a child is to be innocent not abused.....
Child abuse is neglect, which is pretty much not caring what your child is doing. Not feeding your children, properly caring for them and bathing them.
"Child neglect is a child hidden in the shadows when they should be dancing in the sun."~Me
Child abuse is hitting a child, biting them, smacking them, burning them, beating them.
"A child is little and can not fend for themselves, to attack someone smaller than you in age and strength is repulsive."~Me
Child abuse is blaming a child for something that they had no control of, it is swearing at a child, telling them that they are no good and not wanted.
"To be a child, is to be wanted, to be loved, to be hugged and kissed unconditionally"~Me
Child abuse is sexual, forcing sex on a baby, touching in inappropriate ways to one who is little, incest, making sexual remarks.
To be sexual to have sexual thoughts and feelings for a baby is Inexcuseable and disgusting!"~Me
INCEST AND CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE
MISCONCEPTIONS AND FACTS
Myth:Child sexual abuse is a rare occurrence
Fact:Unfortunately, incest and child sexual abuse are very common. One out of four females and one out of seven to one out of ten males will be sexually abused by the time they are 18.
Myth:Most children are attacked by a stranger. Fact:Eighty percent of children will be abused by someone they know. The most common perpetrator is the father or stepfather, followed in frequency by other male relatives.
Myth:Child sexual abuse perpetrators look suspicious. Fact:Most child sexual abusers cannot be distinguished from other people by appearance. They are often seen as upstanding citizens by others. As many as 80% were abused as children themselves.
Myth:Women sexually abuse children as frequently as men.
Fact:Although a woman's role as primary caretaker for children offers her more opportunity to abuse, men make up 97% of reported sexual crimes against women and children.
Myth:Incest occurs only in poor families.
Fact:Incest and child sexual abuse happens in all families, regardless of ethnicity, income or religion. The middle and upper classes are able to hide it more easily due to their access to resources.
Myth:Most children who are sexually abused do something to cause it to occur.
Fact:Children never want to be sexually abused! They may want affection from the adults in their life, but they are unable to differentiate between physical affection and sexual exploitation. Submitting to abuse is not the same as consent. It is never their fault!

Abuse of Children:
The Signs and Symptoms of Child Abuse.
There are many warning signs of abuse of children. One sign, one or two times, does not necessarily mean anything. Keep watching before you jump to conclusions but once you are reasonably sure, report it to the proper authorities. That's the law and the only choice when children are involved.
Physical Abuse: Sores, burns, bruises on body. A reluctance or vagueness about where these originated. Bruises and burns are the most persistent physical symptoms.
Neglect: Soiled diapers, dirty hair, unwashed clothes, body odor. Sometimes weight loss and lackluster skin and/or hair can indicate neglect, particularly in a proper or sufficient diet.
Emotional or Mental Abuse: This is harder to tell. Abused children often become quiet but that is not always a way to tell. Lack of self-esteem is another way to tell but again, that does not mean children are abused.
Sexual Abuse: There are warning signs of sexual abuse of children, too. Precocious behavior; sexual knowledge, through language or behavior, that is beyond what is normal for their age; copying adult sexual behavior; inappropriate sexual behavior such as kissing on the mouth and/or attempting to insert tongue in your mouth; soreness, redness, chaffing around genitals; habitual sleeping with parent of opposite sex in pre-teen or older; reluctance or outright refusal to let you wash or dry those parts of the body; persistent sexual play with other children, themselves, toys or pets.
Remember that inappropriate touching is also sexual abuse. This is not uncommon, particularly when alcohol or drugs are involved.http://www.cyberparent.com/abuse/childabuse.htm

"If I had to advise parents, I should tell them to take great care about the people with whom their children associate. Much harm may result from bad company, and we are inclined by nature to follow what is worse rather than what is better."
~St. Elizabeth Ann Seton
