ON SEEKING HELP: Counselling from crisis services is usually free and always confidential. Rape Crisis services will attend hospital with you and give you follow-up short-term counselling. Sevices are staffed by trained people who will not judge, criticize or blame you. You deserve support, and they can equip you with strengths to get through. If you are in an abusive relationship, congratulations for thinking of using a hotline. Do please keep yourself safe though - you may be better calling from another phone than the one youe abuser has access to. If you're thinking about private therapy, ask rape crisis or domestric violence services whether there are therapists they've had positive experiences with.
